Since February 2024 I’ve been a Software Engineering Manager on Data Center Networking at Meta, where my team delivers software for the Meta Host Network Interface — a high-performance NIC used inside Meta’s data centers.
At the 2024 OCP Global Summit, Meta and Marvell unveiled FBNIC: a custom 5nm NIC
ASIC designed to power Meta’s next-generation network infrastructure, with the
board design intended for contribution to the Open Compute Project. The session,
“FBNIC: A Multi-Host Foundational Network Interface Card Architecture,”
was presented by Meta’s Joseph Provine and Marvell’s Dave Fenton, and a
companion talk at NetDev 0x18 covered the story behind the Host Network Interface
and its open-source fbnic Linux driver.
